  • Built in Baroque style designed by the 700 Italian Giacomo Quarenghi, is one of the city's most elegant and valuable, moreover, part of the attractions that Dostoevsky could see from his house and an easy considering the eponymous station on line 1 of the metro. Pity that in September 2016 the show was overshadowed by scaffolding that concealed largely preventing the view that tourists expect,

  • Trapped in this place quite by accident. Cathedral attracted my attention, their regular features. In the guise of the building traces architectural details inherent in the styles of late Baroque and classicism, unusually "warm Temple". His graceful head like a float away in the gloomy sky of the northern capital. The Interior pleases the eye with a combination of blue and white paint. In furnish no frescoes, inscriptions from the Bible only slightly at the top, near the central dome. But very impressive, rich look and icons in the iconostasis of the chic frames.

  • It's a beautiful, ancient, working cathedral. If you're in the area, it's always worth stopping in (ladies with a head covering & men not in shorts) and lighting a candle or two. Why such a low review...  more »
