Palace Bridge, St. Petersburg
(4.7/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Walk across Palace Bridge, built after Emperor Nicholas I lifted Peter the Great's prohibition to construct bridges across the river. It was designed to provide an unobstructed view of the city. Composed of five cast iron spans, the 260 m (853 ft) bridge has a history dating back to a 1901 design competition. Deliberations lasted for eight years, after which the current design was chosen, although the bridge wasn't unveiled until 1916 because of the delays caused by the onset of World War I. The bridge is raised at night, making it difficult to get across the city, so be sure to be on the correct side of the river before it goes up. Watching the raising of the bridge can be quite a sight--stand on the shore or take a water tour to observe it from a closer distance. • I love to stroll in the city centre. And especially on the Petersburg bridges. Palace bridge is the most important in the city. With it you can do very beautiful pictures!

  • Friends like something stupid advise "visit the Palace bridge"!)) Agree, as in St. Petersburg it is difficult not to "posetit'"ego, even simply impossible: this is a key transport artery in the heart. Of course, this bridge can and should be walking with him the most excellent city views and angles for photography, he brings you the spit of vasilyevsky Island, lets get to the Kunstkammer, the wonderful Zoological Museum. Just certainly doesn't necessarily regret night sleep and come to the Palace at the time of divorce is an unforgettable and very romantic spectacle. A few years ago all the bridges and Peter drew up backlight during divorce plays music that makes the sight even more fun. It's impossible not to see! Of course you need to consider your route after the end of the spectacle to IMP problems back to the place of residence. or-get ready for a long, romantic walk the city at night. :) And-don't forget to dress warmly to this event: the weather is changeable in St. Petersburg, the same evening at the river can be very cool. Spoil yourself and be warm, windproof and vlagozashhitnymi things. pleasant impressions!

  • They are all beautiful bridges on the Neva, but this one has something more. If you are there in the evening don't miss the opening of the bridges, it's a little late, one o'clock at night, but well worth it
