Nicholas Naval Cathedral of The Epiphany, St. Petersburg
(4.7/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
With its gold-domed roofs and gilded interior, it's hard to say whether Nicholas Naval Cathedral of The Epiphany is more ornate inside or out. The Baroque Russian Orthodox cathedral has always been intimately associated with the Russian Navy, as evidenced by the upper church's memorial plaques for crews of sunken Soviet marines. Built on the bank of the Kryukov Canal from 1753 to 1762, the massive cathedral can accommodate up to 5,000 people. Consider attending a mass to see it in all its glory. You can appreciate the cathedral's exterior from a boat cruise along the canal, or from the viewpoint of the bell tower. • The Cathedral is actually very nice. Functions and works for both the faithful and tourists. Beside him in the park stands a memorial to seafarers, also has historical value. And here's the homeless can and remove from the entrance to the territory of

  • A very beautiful Cathedral from the outside and not less beautiful interiors. Peaceful atmosphere reigns and fortunately very few people always inside.

  • This Cathedral is the jewel of St. Petersburg Kolomna. Two temples: the winter and top, both open to the public. Constantly drive there friends and guests, talk about its history and architecture. The stunning beauty of the belfry (in Soviet times, even planned to be demolished), the Cathedral itself-a sample of Russian Baroque, not closed during times of boards and was a cathedral. In the upper Church Memorial plaques in memory of sailors of sunken NUCLEAR SUBMARINES, including the "Komsomolets and Kursk.
