New Holland, St. Petersburg

(3.5/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
New Holland is a remarkable landmark in St Petersburg, contemporary to the city, which was created in the 18 century by russian tzar Peter the Great as the main gate to Western civilization.

From the moment of its founding, New Holland has been under naval control and used for maintenance of the Russian fleet. At the turn of the twenty-first century, the island has been given over to the city, launching a new chapter in its history.

Two key goals for the developers of the New Holland Island project are to restore and renovate the historic architectural ensemble on the island, as well as to create a unique mixed-use facility that will become a central part of the lives of city residents.

  • I am very pleased that now has access to one of the most beautiful places in St. Petersburg. Until then, we can admire the magnificent arch only Wahlen de By. Located on the territory of New Holland architectural objects can be fun to use and transform the island into a creative object. There are many places where you can hold folk festivals, concerts and exhibitions, both outdoors and indoors. Last summer we were there with a friend and we really liked it there. Very impressed with the cultivated garden, instead of the usual flower beds with flowers and a skeleton of a ship as a playground. Very cool, that's heart, in amongst the remarkable architecture, has such a promising object. I advise you, especially in the summer, visit this amazing and beautiful place.

  • Heard a lot about this place, but not every day here will leave you with a lot of impressions. Were here in winter vacation 2017. From the Metro station to go long enough. When you approach the island, you see a lot of people going to and from the island. Think that's it! Event Center, there will be a lot of fun. In fact, all just come here for half an hour/got to see what's new and go. If you choose this place to meet with friends, where you'll amuse themselves, then everything is OK-around nicely, is where to eat, have something to buy, there is a skating rink in winter. If both the attraction and here you come for entertainment, not.) Think summer is here. In the summer all the baddest:))

  • One of the nicest places in the city, especially after repairs. On the island during winter rink and in summer you can just come and sit on the lawn. There is a place for children, café. Equipped designated smoking zones. Points of interest for visitors and residents.

  • Amazing place! More such to be in SPB please
  • Common place and poor modern "art"
  • Amazing place. Very hip and vibrant.
  • Nice place to get some sun rays on a rare sunny day!
  • Liked the garden of aromatic herbs, children's playground, you can walk on the grass and sit (there are special chairs for adults and children). Cons: pebbles on the playground gets dirty (the child's shoes and hands were yellow); on the lawns of the stands water may drain the bad; prices of fast food; and the music is repetitive and on the fan (once, maybe music and change) is missing. For us, the local Aboriginal people, a good place for walks, including children. And from other areas or for visitors only if they visit the show. Special entertainment is gone. There are other alternatives in the city.
