Museum of Soviet Arcade Machines, St. Petersburg

(4.7/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Have some old-school fun and see what the world of arcade games looked like behind the Iron Curtain at Museum of Soviet Arcade Machines. Here you won't find any of the well-known game titles from the West. Instead, the museum offers a rare opportunity to play a series of original products of the Soviet gaming industry on the authentic machines of the era. For an enhanced sensation of the bygone days there is also a restored Soviet soda vending machine that you can use. The admission fee for the museum includes a handful of old USSR kopeck coins on which the machines run. While some games might be difficult to understand without some knowledge of Russian, most are self-explanatory and can be fully enjoyed by everyone. • It is reached by a somewhat dilapidated courtyard, from which you can enjoy an unexpected view of the Church of the Holy Savior on the spilled blood. Then we're having a very nice time in this museum which is in fact a playroom of the 80s-90s! Welcome break which is suitable for all ages!

  • We spent an hour here playing all the machines. They have table tennis, a very early arcade version of pong, table football, table ice hockey, many shooting games, torpedoes, tanks etc. They speak ver...  more »
  • Wonderful atmospheric Museum. Visiting casually strolling with his family through the city center. I have a museum with her husband from memory caused a bunch of stories from childhood and youth: automatic naval battle in cinemas, phonebooth, reference board, automatic bottling soda, etc. But the most interesting is that even greater delight machines was 10-year-old son, grew up with a Tablet and playing in the Play stajshen. It was not the lead. Sheer delight. A great place for the whole family. Advise.
