  • When going from the city to the Catherine Palace, stands a large Arc de Triomphe. Russo commemorative won the war (1828-1829) was built in 1838 in the city at the time of entering the gate as it seems. Located in the Park, demolished in the Stalin era is that is was, but during the siege of Leningrad and worked as the anti-tank barricades and was revived in 1960, in the Khrushchev era. It is casually standing, interesting bit of history there.

  • An interesting structure, which catches the eye. The only negative is they cannot come, can be seen only from afar.

  • Impressive structure. The Narva Triumphal Arch was erected in 1814 to commemorate the Russian victory over Napoleon. The structure was constructed on the Narva highway with the purpose of greeting the soldiers who were returning from abroad after their victory over Napoleon. The material used was wood and a weather-resistant plaster that was never intended to be permanent. Between 1827 and 1834 Vasily Stasov redesigned and rebuilt the gate in stone. After the bombardments during the town's siege in WWII where it suffered a lot, it was restored (works finished in 2009) in its original (stone) condition. A visit is recommended.
  • Many pass by while enjoying this architectural monument, and don't know what's inside, at the top, is a Museum, one of the branches of the Museum of urban sculpture. A variety of programs out there that are usually timed to coincide with significant dates of military victories of Russia. Visiting the Museum of useful for adults and schoolchildren. Here you can purchase the book on the history of Russia. Small museum, skillful guy!

  • Very small museum from one Hall. For people with reduced mobility capabilities not available in single room lead close and steep spiral stairs.

  • The Narva triumphal gate are just near the exit of the subway station. You can go through the underpass. In the same way in the gate there is a museum.
