  • It was close to our hotel and then we saw her many times, appreciating the balances that allow the horse (and rider) to stand on one leg; is an implementation of the mid-19th century dedicated to a Tsar who led a harsh and oppressive policy.

  • Of course in our city so many attractions that this wonderful creations by renowned architects, it comes rarely. Only deputies of the Duma of the Astoria guests can enjoy Yes this monument in full) Monument has exceptional engineering solution, a huge equestrian statue stands just two points of the supports (rear hooves of a horse). This statue was the first in Europe. The Emperor is clothed in ceremonial uniform of the life-guard and sits on its pet-Arab Stallion Amalatbeke. Pedestal is decorated with bas-reliefs of the iconic events of the reign of Nicholas I. In addition there are four sculptures of women, representing: power, wisdom, justice, faith.

  • Monument to Nicholas 1 is very beautiful and with good reason, because the author of the project was Auguste Montferrand and sculptor-Klodt, greatest geniuses of architecture. The monument is so beautiful and unique in terms of engineering, that he even decided not to demolish at a time when got rid of all the memory "the Tsar's regime." Model of the monument, made himself Peter Clodt von Jurgensburg, exhibited in the Russian Museum. It is interesting to admire the monument not only on St. Isaac's square, but the miniature copy, which you can review in detail
