  • Visited on excursion "Literatorskie bridges" in late autumn, when the leaves no longer interfered with see virtually all monuments. Was shocked by the stories of people unknown to me, buried in this spot plus the totally unexpected facts from the life of famous (Kuprin, Leskov, l.d. Mendeleevoj, etc.). I advise you to visit this place, but it's better with a guide, because the most interesting thing you can learn only from a knowledgeable person. Yourself here, you can admire monuments of someone famous in the past people, but this place will enjoy more if you learn a lot of unusual from their lives.

Saltykov-Schedrin. block all list cannot and do not want to have to come Here and worship the great and admire the monuments of great Anikushina. It is our memory and we must remember and honor. • This part of Volkovskoje cemetery is known as a kind of memorial for a group of Russian poets and writers of the begining of XX century, so called "Silver Age" of Russian literature. In fact there're a lot of different famous people from differents periods burried here: poet A. A. Blok, satiric writer M. Y. Saltykov-Shchedrin, lady-terrorist V. I. Zasulich, historian professor N. I. Kostomarov, physicist A. F. Ioffe, athropologist N. N. Miklouho-Maclay and dozens of others. The place is not tourist-friendly: lack of signs and other things but a great place of interest. Thuesday is a day off.
  • Atmospheric. Buried such famous personalities as: Mendeleyev, Turgenev, Mamin-Sibiryak, Belinsky and others. Well cared for cemetery and well located. A very quiet place. People counted on the fingers or really anyone.

  • Necropolises of St. Petersburg allow you to feel closer to the history of the city, familiar to us from books and photos. And listen to the birds singing.

  • Interesting. with pointers and trouble signs full ... only a few hundred people, and nothing is incomprehensible ...

  • "I went to the cemetery to dispel their melancholy". Not enough normal pointers. For the graves could be better monitored. But overall-go and partake of it is important.
