  • The first half of the listed in the previous recall of museums is not located on the embankment of Lieutenant Schmidt and on University Embankment, which is its continuation. Lieutenant Schmidt embankment for me-not the most interest place to stroll in St. Petersburg, but quite pleasant and convenient. A line of houses on the seafront in mostly-ledges, facades of the houses are not on the same line that you walk. Nice houses, but nothing particularly standing out. Occur as small and cozy, and impressive in size. Up to the monument of Mars and even a little further goes walking trail of lamps in the summer were flower pots with flowers, on the monument will have to be content with the sidewalk. On the way to meet Church of the Dormition, Church of a farmstead deserts optinoj. Museums have already mentioned: the mining University, the icebreaker "Krasin" submarine p-189, in the place of transition in University Embankment-the Museum of the Academy of arts. In summer are on the waterfront tourist ships stand. Views across the Neva initially not very inspirational, then, since the beginning of the promenade des Anglais on the opposite side of the river Neva, pretty cute.

  • One of the most beautiful promenades of St. Petersburg. It is home to several important museums: Zoological, Kunckamera, Palace of Menshikov, Museum of the Mining Institute, submarine p-189, the icebreaker Krasin. Not only can you take a leisurely stroll along the promenade, but also visit one of the museums.

  • Several times a week during my stay here, never cease to enjoy stunning city views from here. Of course, here it is better not to walk in sub-zero temperatures, but then did not see ice here. Oh, and on hot summer days here, of course, extremely nice views of the city and the River, recreate and enjoy something soft.

Where to stay in St. Petersburg

For luxury hotels with a price tag to match, you can't beat the city's historical heart--Palace Square--and Nevsky Prospekt, the main avenue that connects the square to the Neva River. The area around St. Isaac's Cathedral, at the west end of Nevsky Prospekt, also offers a great selection of luxury and mid-range options. If you want to see the other side of the city, consider staying on Vasilyevsky Island, at the mouth of the river. Increased competition means that St. Petersburg now offers a wide range of inexpensive but funky hostels scattered throughout the city.
