Grand Maket Russia Interactive Museum, St. Petersburg
(4.7/5 based on 1,900+ reviews on the web)
Boasting one of the largest railway models in Europe, Grand Maket Russia Interactive Museum features a three-dimensional layout with mountains, lakes, forests, rivers, and small towns. Hundreds of modelers and artists worked on this display, opened in 2012 with the aim of introducing visitors to the country's diverse communities and lifestyles. The layout contains street scenes depicting modern Russia, with functioning factories, flying helicopters, moving cars, and lifelike figures of people and animals. The museum's two-level railroad links the entire setup, with automatic changes from day to night and back giving the representation an added feeling of reality. Photography is permitted free of charge, so don't forget to bring your camera. • Have not experienced similar emotions. Incredible attraction for children and especially for their parents. If you are a kid admired railway, loved to model and build model cars, collecting and a little interested in the geography of their country-click here! Fantastic fireworks fun. A huge Hall, which was built one huge composition, with cities, nature reserves, seas, transport hubs, people, aircraft, ships and steamships, even underground. All these moves is constantly in motion, changing day and night lights up and you hear. Unique emotions, be sure to go here, you won't regret it!

  • A unique place! It is interesting to everyone! Adults enjoy the precision and scale (urban architecture, topography), surprising fine rigorous working artist-modelers, there is even humor, which performed some exposure! And children (advise by 3 years) like to click on buttons actuate layouts, when the little people, machines and equipment "come alive". And yet every 12 min night comes, becomes dark, and then the "morning" from East to West. Minimum 2-3 hours for sure worth to dedicate a Grand Layout!

  • Cool thing. Russian Layout. The creators have tried to cover all regions and industries, so here there is a HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION and a spaceport, and ski resort, and the South coast, etc, etc. Coal, oil, construction. Simulation of fire and extinguishing it, ride trains and cars, stopping at red traffic signal and starting the movement to green. There are buttons that activate the movement of heavy equipment and people working. Changing lighting, day will night, daylight is replaced by illumination. Nkobyknovennoe spectacle. The mass of small pieces so small that one is amazed as possible. There is even a cabbage field with storks, bringing in the cabbage kids. In the forest people pursue Bigfoot, to photograph. At the mill the gang capture with police cars and sirens. Bridge in Vladivostok, steamy locomotive and lots and lots and lots of everything. Definitely an ambitious project. Consider you can grandmaket all day and each time finding new parts coming again. The whole Centre is made perfectly, everything is thought out. There's a nice dining room (Café) with good food and low prices. I complete meal cost 350 r. Must see. Highly recommend. For children and adults
