  • In the Museum halls 28 St. Petersburg history from the founding of the city until the first world war. Most liked the exposition devoted to the history of the development of railway transport. Just very interesting halls associated with the uprising of the Decembrists. In the Hall where the Decembrists were sentenced, installed a commemorative stele listing the names and sentences. Read sentences simply scary. Has a lot of monuments in the Museum in miniature: the Alexander column, the monument to Nicholas I in front of St. Isaac's Cathedral, Barclay de Tolly and Kutuzov in front of the Kazan Cathedral and many other layouts. I am sure that the Museum will be interesting for all generations!

  • So it should look like a modern Museum. Perfectly matched. Interesting in something unusual. One only sound what it is worth. Well kept building, both outside and inside.

  • A very interesting Museum for adults and children. At the beginning of the exposition presented the history of the origin and development of St. Petersburg. This is followed by a section dedicated to the life and welfare of the inhabitants of the city until 1918, in each Hall-a separate theme exhibitions (clothing, transportation, kitchen, sale, photography, furniture, etc.).

Where to stay in St. Petersburg

For luxury hotels with a price tag to match, you can't beat the city's historical heart--Palace Square--and Nevsky Prospekt, the main avenue that connects the square to the Neva River. The area around St. Isaac's Cathedral, at the west end of Nevsky Prospekt, also offers a great selection of luxury and mid-range options. If you want to see the other side of the city, consider staying on Vasilyevsky Island, at the mouth of the river. Increased competition means that St. Petersburg now offers a wide range of inexpensive but funky hostels scattered throughout the city.
