Book House, St. Petersburg
(4.6/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Explore the collection of books, stationery, and souvenirs in an elegant Art Nouveau building at Book House. Designed by architect Pavel Suzor for the Singer Sewing Machine Company, this standout on Nevsky Prospekt features a glass tower topped by a glass globe sculpture, bronze sculptures, an elaborate door sign, and a marble staircase and Venetian decor on the inside. The building itself is as much of an attraction as the more than 150,000 books housed in the bookstore. Most books sold are in Russian, many by local authors, but the store also has an extensive English-language selection, where you can see which authors are being featured and pick up books about the history and attractions within the area. Visit the art department for drawing supplies, watch a play, or pop into one of the lectures or master classes offered for children and adults while you're browsing around. Be sure to take in the panoramic views of the area through the large windows in the store. Head to the first floor for the on-site cafe and restroom facilities. • A great store for those who are looking for a gift. Bought the book about St. Petersburg in Italian. Colourful and affordable price. Just neulengbach map on discount 10 percent. On the second floor of the great coffee place overlooking the Kazan Cathedral. You can drink delicious coffee and admire the view.

  • As for me so this store is the largest collection of books in different languages, guides, and everything else that might be in the bookstore. Is it worth it to visit the Naturally Yes! In this book store on the second floor or third there is the famous Café "Zinger'" with the best tables by the Windows which are extremely popular, pictures for these tables are very beautiful. What does the account menu then I can say only one thing my advice take a coffee and dessert or tea, and here you can enjoy a meal and in the best location!

  • Wonderful place for booklovers. Beautiful building. Great cafe with the best hot chocolate in the world and enchanting panoramic view of Kazansky Cathedral
  • Love going to Café Singer in the upstairs area. The food and drinks are priced well, and the building itself is gorgeous. It is right across the street from Kazan Cathedral, and you can see the building out of the large windows in the café. What a view! The bookstore is so fun to explore, however the book prices are not ideal. They are a bit high. It is usually crowded in the summertime. There is a great selection of unique souvenirs!
  • A LOT of books. Must visit for everybody capable of reading (russian). Open even at night
  • Love the invironment and very nice collection of books , cafe with very nice view of cathedral
  • Nice bookshop housed in a beautiful building. Must visit. Great cafe to boot!
