  • Besides the Museum highly recommend visit tour of the Academy itself Stieglitz! Of course, this is not a maniacal Hermitage and Russian Museum, but it is a different atmosphere here, therefore, is very cozy and warm. Tour, where we were, was a former pupil of the Academy, an employee of the Museum, so that one and a half hours flew by as one moment and didn't want to leave!

  • This is a joke in the museums. Travel guides seem to hehkuttavan this, I wonder why the privatization of its clients, the staff is not particularly enthusiastic. The place was easy to find through the lobby, ticket sales, toritaidebasaarina. It seemed as if it would be dropped directly for an unforgettable time, slow and cumbersome by the Council, as such, fun if you are in no hurry to do anything. The description was given to pay if you actually asked, and correctly written kuitinkin was! Any kind of clothing I had in my eyes, was perhaps cloakrooms may not, the round was a jacket on top. The exhibition really quite small, intricate, and black in the corridors, as well as a few in the room. The point, however, went beyond comprehension that the main body of the large lasikattoiseen Chamber reached at all, which I believe is the main target, and exhibit space. There's only a handful of visitors. I saw how at a higher level, in which I concluded that the glass ceiling of the flock, moved through the halls of the travelling people. The leaves of the gate input to the lobby, we were trying to get into the mode, the lock puuhastavan museomatamin ban, only for students. In General, the public spaces of the Museum for all paying the same, here did not feel qualified. Tiled stoves, as well as the talented puutyönä the handsome chairs, there is little else left in the mind. The most interesting thing it would have been an absolute highlight of the building itself, which was, therefore, prohibited. Not exactly worth the hassle of things harrastamattomalle.

  • You can tell about it for hours, so he struck my imagination ... Surprisingly beautiful interior, you can spend hours consider shelves, halls, corridors, executed in different historical styles of different epochs-ancient, Gothic, Italian Renaissance, ... This is a must see with your own eyes. Here there are many historical relics, with great curiosity considered beautiful huge vase, an unusual household utensils, cupboards-secrets, but how interesting tiled stoves-fireplaces. The ceilings are painted with an unusually colorful, simple eye does not tear. Amazingly beautiful and harmonious! Strongly advise you to visit this Museum, so much so that the area is a lot of historical places.

  • An art school with a proud history from the 1880s. The building is rather badly kept. With a ticket to the adjacent museum of Applied Arts you can freely stroll through the academy, as well. Lots of students' works on display.
  • Current UNIVERSITY-State artistic-industrial Academy of Baron Stieglitz. Inside the Museum of applied art. Guided tours are available only for organized groups. In the main hall sometimes pass a jewellery exhibition. Museum strikes interiors and all sorts of objects: tiled stoves, inlaid bureaus, porcelain, majolica, costumes, etc.

Where to stay in St. Petersburg

For luxury hotels with a price tag to match, you can't beat the city's historical heart--Palace Square--and Nevsky Prospekt, the main avenue that connects the square to the Neva River. The area around St. Isaac's Cathedral, at the west end of Nevsky Prospekt, also offers a great selection of luxury and mid-range options. If you want to see the other side of the city, consider staying on Vasilyevsky Island, at the mouth of the river. Increased competition means that St. Petersburg now offers a wide range of inexpensive but funky hostels scattered throughout the city.
