  • Named Stieglitz in St. Petersburg and North-West region involves very many places. This wonderful man-philanthropist and a true patriot of Russia-has done a lot for his country. One of such cases-the creation of the Academy of art and applied art, deservedly bears his name. The Academy building, which now receive education students-artists and art historians, architectural masterpiece of renowned architect Mejsmahera. Therefore, the internal halls of this beautiful buildings deserve separate attention. The Museum is located in the lower part of the building. So you can see the first beautiful rooms of the upper floors, and then descend down into the Museum. Here is a vintage collection of unique things, many of which bought Stieglitz himself. Many fine products from wooden carvings, tiled stoves, crockery, ceramics and porcelain, paintings and sculptures, many old pieces of furniture. The Museum is open from 10 till 5:00 pm, closed Sunday and Monday. All information can be found on their website. You can buy tickets at the entrance of the building Salt lane 13. In this museum there is a link of times-that students in these rooms, perfectly gives you understanding of what Stieglitz wanted to do. People who learn in such beauty, cannot then create ugliness. Therefore, graduates of the Academy should create only masterpieces worthy of his school.

  • A wonderful Museum in the heart of the city, immortalizing the name of financier and philanthropist Alexander Schtiglitz, on whose money the renowned architect Messmacher created in building the Museum, opened in 1896 in the presence of the imperial family. Intricately decorated halls and galleries with fantastic painted ceilings and a huge glass dome, delightful carved furniture, porcelain, tiles, glass and metal. In the Museum of the desert, the atmosphere is almost intimate. Especially from Russian art exhibits I liked tiled stoves 17-19 century. Recommend to all lovers of art
