Stalin's Bunker, Samara
(3.8/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
At Stalin's Bunker, sit in Stalin's chair and look around the office built as a copy of the one in the Moscow Kremlin. Stalin never used this bunker, which was hermetically sealed in 1942 and remained a secret from the citizens of Samara until 1991. The self-contained air-recycling system and power station were still in working order upon discovery. Today, the bunker houses an exhibit on World War II. Go to the deepest level, 37 m (121 ft) belowground, and see the leader's personal chamber, with imitations of windows and doors in the right places and the same kind of furniture. Move further into the meeting room of the government and the rooms of the guards, technical support staff, and storage on upper levels. Arrange a guided tour in advance. Using our world travel planner, Samara attractions like Stalin's Bunker can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • Visited the bunker during the review the bus tours of the city, my family, who live in Samara, never even knew about this and after our story sorry that did not join us. Previously secret objects open for visitors (two years ago was in Balaclava-secret submarine base). Impressive quality of construction works, produced during World War II, the preservation of the object, saturation and informative story guide and, of course, the feeling of belonging to the history of our country.
