  • Difficult history of this monastery. At the end of the 19th century (60) was formed. By the beginning of the 20th century the monastery territory already acted: the school for orphaned girls, gold embroidery workshop, hospital. But after the events of October 17 years the monastery was abolished, the temples of the monastery (and there were 5) partially destroyed, partially converted to various Soviet institutions. One of the temples (Sretensky) was demolished and in its place, as well as in the adjacent cemetery was built to house the workers of Soviet authorities. Another would be such a wonderful place-Bank of the Volga, the Centre of the city. During the years of the great patriotic war in the evacuation in this House lived the family of Stalin, Mikoyan, etc the family members of the Politburo. At the end of the 90-ies of the territory of the monastery was transferred to the Church. The restoration, or rather the construction of the monastery again. Construction has not been completed, but already now appear features of the monastic complex. Already read the neighborhood its Jingle Bell Tower, built from the ground up. Many temples have been restored. In temples go service. If you are Samara, be sure to visit this place!

On the territory of the monastery, by the way, acting, is the tomb of the famous Mayor and statesman Pyotr Alabina, destroy you, the glory of the common sense, not rose's hand. Pyotr Alabin, was a war correspondent in the Russo-Turkish war, and after the liberation of Bulgaria some time was Governor of the city of Sofia. But that is another story ...

  • Did not feel the special atmosphere typical of holy places during the time of militant atheism monastery was closed and izničtožili architecture-an absurd mixture of styles and epochs in the territory of the monastery has been very brisk trade-I understand that this is but a bad market combined with prayer and thoughts about the eternal
