Ruskeala Mountain Park, Ruskeala

(4.7/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
Explore the source of marble used in some of the most significant buildings in the city, such as St. Isaac's Cathedral, the floors of the Kazan Cathedral, and the window sills of the Hermitage at Ruskeala Mountain Park. This park features a viewing platform showcasing panoramic views and a walking trail leading to the former marble quarry, now filled with water. Rent a boat and sail around the lake or sit on the benches scattered throughout the park. Many parts of the trail can get slippery because of the water, so watch your footing and be mindful of young children. • Went in February 2017 Canyon looked simply amazing. Snowy winter tale, pine trees and beautiful mountains. Be sure to visit, if you love nature. And return in late August and early September. Despite the overall positive impression on our trip there were shortcomings. 1. GRASP the HANDRAIL! I ignored it, in the end, slipped and slid down the stairs the whole span. Strong, but injuries aching pain kept day. 2. If you want to go close to the toilet, it's not the best idea, especially in winter: the park only 2 toilets, and they just mad, half an hour you can stand easily. 3. prices for souvenirs that are sold at a local shop, powerful overstated, though probably not worth this wonder. So in many places. 4. good cafes on the territory of the park there is, there is only one cafe with food. Better way site in one of the small shops where they sell fish and buy a coulibiac with fish. In 100 times better than "fish Burger from the cafe.

  • We went there on a thematic tour with Kuz'michem in December of the year 2015. We conducted a tour of the wonderful local guide. Incredible beauty! Mountain Park is constantly evolving, versatile you can relax.

  • The place is beautiful, but what made him pumping money not impressive. In the Café for cake at $4.95, the toilet queue. Souvenirs-prices such that Mama do not cry. To see a former quarry where excavate marble and lime-you need to pay money. I understand that you have to pay for the tour, but not that kind of money. Nature-Heritage people. And its preference to businessmen who invest a dime, and want to get rubles. Advertising delivered through tour firms well. Buses and cars so much that I don't want to look at it.
