  • Worth far from Rostov, but is required to visit. Built without a single nail long ago and worth the celehon'ka so far. At one time frequented the Tsar, so we are not insane.

  • If driving from Moscow, not reaching Rostov the great, on the left-hand side of the road is visible wooden church of St. John the Evangelist. To get to her best with M8 Kholmogory road, turn left at the sign "Kyrgyzstan". Continue moving the railway, turn right onto village Theologian. The road, though, but it is passing. You can stay right beside the church there is a large enough free space. The Church is a branch Museum of the Rostov Kremlin. But it still takes place in the present, however, only 1 time per year. When we drove up, saw that the Church is closed to the Castle. Upset and decided to walk around. So far did the first photo, the woman came and opened the Church. Invited us on the tour, issued admission tickets to the Museum and told the story of this unique monument of history. Tickets and tour cost 80 p/person. In the Church of the most interesting and unique wooden carved gilded Royal doors and the remaining icons of the iconostasis is currently in the Museum of the Rostov Kremlin. The replaces an exact copy. Beautiful, unusual, unique, eye not to withdraw. Icons in the church there. In 90-th years very much their missing from Church (Castle of flimsy, watchmen was not). What a pity. Wall log so purely processed that holding your hand over it, it seems that the walls are covered with a varnish or any other protective material. You would not even dare to say that the masters worked exclusively with an axe. Interesting ceiling, executed "herringbone" and looks three-dimensional due to displacement faces. Emperor Nicholas II visited the Church with his family. It was cloudy, thunderstorm was approaching, but at heart we had light and heat. Object interesting, is required to attend. Recommend.

  • Yes, impression, since it is the only wooden church of this age in Yaroslavl oblast (1687). Worth seeing every guest of Rostov.
