Pskov Kreml/ Krom, Pskov

(4.7/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
At Pskov Kreml/ Krom, see the mighty walls that endured more than 100 wars and dozens of sieges before collapsing into ruins after the Nazi occupation. The walls were constructed in the late 1400s around a medieval citadel rising on a rocky promontory between two rivers. Today, the entrance to the Krom lies through a "window" cut above the ancient gate. Walk to the southwest corner, and you will notice that you are standing on top of the arches of ancient buildings. The tower in the northwest corner was Pushkin's favorite spot for looking at the river. In the evening you can hear the sound of bells and listen to a choir singing during a divine service at the adjacent Trinity Cathedral. • With a good guide-an exciting journey. Without him-beautiful photo. A good overview on the lookout (tower to the left of the entrance).

  • Especially beautiful at sunset. The sun comes from the river. In low Sun sunset herb has a special glow. The entire Kremlin can get around for an hour, and if you get hungry in the wall there is a restaurant.

  • Truly historic city! An ideal place for tourists and all those who are interested in old times and old architecture. Vistas, centuries-old temples and expanse! It's a shame that such beauty as seen by the following is supported: Trash everywhere, historical walls painted with spray cans in parks around drink local alkonafty, old buildings on the verge of destruction and of course road in the city leaves much to be desired. Hopefully, the city administration will find a way to keep what they have inherited from the great ancestors, cleanliness and public order, at least in the heart and increase the flow of tourists (especially foreign) in this beautiful place, that is not so difficult with such potential.

  • Можно подняться прямо на стену.
  • Amazing historical site. Good trips to the Kremlin's objects. Unique objects and exposure. An interesting Museum. Clean and well cared for. For one day only view.

  • Very interesting place! At the time of the walk there, watched the excavation near the exterior walls, a lot higher than they seem! Sorry no examination poloshhadok on the walls. (but there is a good view of the Kremlin on the other side of the Great River, near the chapel). Admission is free. Be sure to explore the Trinity Cathedral.

  • Were in July 2016. There did the reconstruction of walls and excavations. We showed true masonry and foundations. Indeed, those buildings that are restored in the post-war years, very similar to the original, but not the spirit of antiquity. But we were lucky, so very excited!

  • Very nice, but I'd like to see without scaffolding and other attributes of repair.
