Create an itinerary including Sobor Petra I Pavla
Visit Sobor Petra I Pavla and admire its red-brick walls, glazed tiles, ornate decoration, and five spires arranged in the shape of a tent. The story goes that the cathedral was built in the Neo-Russian style in 1904 for common people, who were not allowed into palace churches. A viewing platform around the church's 60 m (197 ft) high central spire provides views over the marshland and pine forest all the way to St. Petersburg. The interior of the church features three icon-stands: two made of white Carrara marble and one of majolica. Climb the high, well-lit gallery to look for the special places for consecrating eggs and Easter cakes. • Great cathedral. Under renovation right now.
  • great view from park
  • THIS IS NOT the Peter and Paul's Cathedral where the Romanov's are buried (that one is in St. Pet center within the same name fortress on an island). THIS IS the same name Cathedral in Peterhof, around 45 min from the center. It totally differs in style and year of construction from the St. Pet's one. This one in Peterhof is just across the road from the Peterhof summer Palace complex (read that review). It's a beautiful classic Russian style Cathedral built around 1900, almost 200 years after the St. Pet one. It's just by the bus stop that will take you back to center so it's worth visiting its beautiful interiors
  • Beautiful antique painting and olden days icons and very peaceful atmosphere would love to stay there entire day praying
  • It is in reconstruction faze. Too pitty one can not take picture from inside.
