Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Peterhof
(4.8/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Visit Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul and admire its red-brick walls, glazed tiles, ornate decoration, and five spires arranged in the shape of a tent. The story goes that the cathedral was built in the Neo-Russian style in 1904 for common people, who were not allowed into palace churches. A viewing platform around the church's 60 m (197 ft) high central spire provides views over the marshland and pine forest all the way to St. Petersburg. The interior of the church features three icon-stands: two made of white Carrara marble and one of majolica. Climb the high, well-lit gallery to look for the special places for consecrating eggs and Easter cakes. • The church is located opposite the Peterhof. Most visitors like to visit this red brick. Outside is an orthodox church that so beautiful and look like the Church of our Savior on the Spilled Blood. Its building was damaged during the World War II and closed for years till reopened again after renovation.
