Pavlovsk Palace, Pavlovsk

(4.7/5 based on 900+ reviews on the web)
Explore the old hunting grounds of former tsars at Pavlovsk Palace, the home once belonging to Paul I featuring a large green space with an aviary, trails, and gardens. As you walk through the 607 hectare (1,500 acre) park, you'll pass landscaped gardens, bridges, ponds, rivers, and monuments. Empress Catherine II gave the land to her son, Paul I, and his wife and child in 1777. Construction on the palace began in 1781, and the couple traveled around Europe for years collecting objects to fill their new home. You can tour the interior of the house and view its ornate furniture and artwork. • Wonderful park, sometimes resembling wild forest, constantly passing festivals of various directions. This place is great and easy for walking, both in summer and winter (ski and sledge rental, Hill for skiing on the tube-slope) and for "kul'tpohodov"-in case of "cultural" hunger is a very beautiful Palace, which offers tours. . There is a café, in case you get hungry. Very convenient to transport the sense-virtually begins Park railway station, from the city to the Park walking bus

  • Worth it penalty devote you a tomorrow after take train and bus that you leaves in front of the Palace. The best are the gardens and pure nature for a leisurely stroll and picnic in summer.
