Glory monument, Novosibirsk

4.8
Dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, Glory monument presents numerous commemorative statues, military objects, and a site with an eternal flame. Covering almost 2 hectares (5 acres) of land, this National Heritage Site was brought to life by prominent Russian sculptors and architects. View 10 m (33 ft) pillars that depict scenes of war, and pylons with over 30,000 names of the city's fallen soldiers. Look for four chests containing the earth from battlefields, located on top of a hill between the pillars. One striking site--the grieving mother monument--sits above the eternal flame. Giant plates-thousands of inhabitants names names, did not return from the front. Among them is my great-uncle. I go here every May 9. Place uniquely worthy of visiting with point of view of composition-the present monument to military glory of our country with the eternal flame, the actual plates with names of military equipment. Names are added there separately there are plates in honor of warriors-Afghans and participants in other conflicts.

Beautiful park in memory of what we must never forget. A quiet place in the city with old Soviet relics. The whole is very close and very crowded.

Visit the monument of glory is worth each, at least, to pay tribute to the memory of soldiers killed in the great patriotic war! "in my opinion, getting on this monument, immediately feel the extent of BOB, what a great number of people died defending their homeland and how much grief and suffering has brought people to the war Feel genuine sadness and at the same time the pride for our people, that so many have endured and survived!
