Where to stay in Moscow

The capital of Russia and a huge metropolis, Moscow offers a plethora of different types of accommodations. Many renowned hotel chains are represented in the city, and some of its hotels rank among the world's most luxurious and expensive. Those traveling on a more modest budget can choose among the boutique or Soviet-era hotels. There are also numerous hostels and short-term rental apartments throughout the city. When choosing a place to stay, especially if you're only planning for a short visit, always bear in mind the size of Moscow. Staying too far from the center might mean that the precious time you could spend on sightseeing will be wasted in traffic and transport.

  • The most beautiful building of the first Russian typography (the Moscow print yard). Of all the decorations of the buildings are most impressed by the lion and the Unicorn-characters that are depicted on the seal of Ivan the terrible, the founder of the print yard. Now this unique monument is used as the Russian State University for the humanities.

  • Historic building on Nikolskaya Street. Here the first Russian printed book. Now the building belongs to the HUMANITIES. If you walk along Nikolskaya, by simply do not pass. It is sure to excite your interest. Pleasant journeys.

  • It seems to me that this is hardly the main reason to visit the Nikolskaya Street. The main thing is to choose the day when less tourists and no fairs (i.e. Christmas), for example, in the morning. Oh and a special concern to me is the fact that here was the first higher educational institution in Russia-the Slavic Greek Latin Academy.
