  • The Moscow Sretensky Stavropegial monastery, located in the heart of Moscow (entrance from b. Lubyanka) produced an ambiguous impression. Something very (ancient temple Candlemas), something not liked at all (lots of okolocerkovnaja activities and a series of mysterious buildings-novodelov on site and nearby). Ends here and the construction of a huge new "Church on the blood" in honor of the Russian new martyrs who will belomramorno loom over all the surrounding historic, low area and the monastery. Why all this is happening precisely in this place and why do I need a new shrine-everyone can easily find the information and read all there is a simple explanation. I would recommend to visit this place purely for the sake of the temple Candlemas, which really deserves attention. It should be noted that until the year 1918 sretensky monastery wore low non civic status "(i.e. existed exclusively on own funds), and now proudly carries the name" stavropigial'nogo ", and, therefore, enjoys all the benefits of being.

  • Sretensky monastery is located on the Great Lubyanka in Moscow. Beautiful temple and a great place for solitude and prayer. Summer is especially beautiful when surrounded by greenery. Now the construction of another temple on the territory.

  • Best Orthodox website for news and articles
  • Unfortunately, the monastery of little interest. For two reasons:-the territory very closely. There is no convenient spots for photography. Plus built in quite cramped conditions, a large temple. -high degree of closeness. Most of the just closed for passage. I.e. nevocerkovlennogo guest from the Street site is not interesting.
