  • Not quite what we were expecting from the descriptions in various guide books but it is clear that the museum is undergoing a major refurbishment and so at present is only showing temporary exhibits. ...  more »
  • They came to the old homestead, where is the State Museum of architecture A.v. Sciusev. It was established in the year 1934 and became the first specialized Museum of architecture in Europe. Its main task is the collecting and presentation to the public of samples of the architecture around the world from ancient times to the present. The Museum contains drawings, photographs and models not only architectural buildings, located on the territory of Russia, but also ancient Byzantine churches, Middle Eastern religious buildings, European architecture, samples and even Polynesian huts. Stunning exhibition dedicated to the founder of the St. Petersburg art nouveau Fedor Lidvall, in whose house in St. Petersburg, I lived for many years.

  • Managed to get on the last day of the exhibition devoted to the construction of the Moscow metro-very educational! Learn about their home station-like storoilas′ and rebuilt and compare with what now-great èkspirines! But then it turned out that with tickets bought on one show, you can watch and other halls. Very impressed with the interactive room with screens, which was all about unique existing pamâtnikakh architecture, or those who were never built and remained only in projects (like the various projects of the Palace of the Soviets, etc). You can stay at the screen with a clock, watch all the angles and details of the buildings on all sides. Were not ready for so much information, so think back ...
