Peter The Great Monument, Moscow

(1.1/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Rising above the Moskva River in the center the city, Peter The Great Monument pays homage to one of Russia's most legendary figures. Standing at a height of 98 m (322 ft), the statue generated controversy not just for its design but for the fact that Peter himself had a well-documented hatred of Moscow. Judge for yourself by stopping at the towering metal statue, just a stone's throw from the Kremlin. Look up to see an oversized Peter astride a mound of sailing ships, clutching a golden scroll in his hand--a tribute to his foundation and development of the Russian Navy. Bring your camera to capture this prominent component of the skyline. • Product z. Tsereteli, which you can admire and criticize! I'm personally not too keen on this monument to Peter the great.

  • Before the monument to Peter I can be easily reached from the Manege square. Although the map is easy to get lost, it is better that you led people who know the city. We approached the monument from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, that is from the back of the monument. He's just incredibly high in my opinion. and the fact that he stands back, pointing forward, sailing-it gives the impression that you are on the same boat with him and swim off into the distance. Very inspiring!

  • I really liked this object. Monument to Emperor-reformers mounted on specially created for him a concrete island at the site of the arrows Mosuvy River and Drainage channel. The scale and uniqueness of the monument delight. Although of course this monument there are a lot of enemies, and connoisseurs will find many inconsistencies and inaccuracies, but that's another story.
