Old Arbat (Stary Arbat), Moscow

(2.9/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
An iconic walkway for visitors to the city, Old Arbat (Stary Arbat) represents one of Moscow's oldest streets and maintains some of its historical characteristics. With origins dating back to the 15th century, this cobblestone route has been used for hundreds of years and was converted into a pedestrian zone in the 1980s. Famous for its souvenir shops, it is also a popular place for bars, restaurants, artists, and street performers. If you enjoy tourist centers, need to pick up some gifts, or want to see an old surviving part of the capital, explore this busy street. Don't miss the charming statue of "bard" singer Bulat Okudzhava, whose song about Arbat is a Russian classic. • Legendary place to visit which stands just to have your own opinion. You still sooner or later will appear in this location in the city centre. Arbat street closer to the night breathes history monument Okudzhava, bits with books, polusumasshedshie poets. The travel time can be seen, the street filled with bars and other establishments aimed at tourists.

  • On this street comes a very large number of people, both locals and visitors to the capital. Here you can see the street musicians, dancers, artists. You can visit the State academic theatre. VAKHTANGOV. Admirers of Viktor Tsoy necessarily come to his wall and will perform his song (after all, many of us believe that he is still alive). After walking down the street you will see a piece of old Moscow, beautiful buildings, flashlights and overambitious pavement. On streets that go like rays you can climb on Novy Arbat street (BTW on these streets too many fine old buildings). I wish all of you to visit this site and enjoy its beauty.

  • The old Arbat has me a bit disappointed because over the years it has become too commercial and no longer has the historical air that characterized it.
