Neskuchny sad, Moscow

4.7
#7 of 82 in Parks in Moscow
Nature / Park
Explore amusements both new and old at Neskuchny sad, where you can walk an aerial rope, fly down a zipline, play a game of outdoor chess or table tennis, and explore the hills and winding paths. Previously an emperor's residence, the park was created as a result of the integration of three estates in the 18th century and is the city's oldest park. It houses the 15,000-seat Green Theater, one of the largest open amphitheatres in Europe, as well as the house of Count Orlov, with a rotunda on the Elizavetinskiy pond, and a three-span stone arch bridge. Parking can be difficult to find, so plan to take public transportation or park a bit further away from the park. • AMAZING. As I understand, there are not many billiards places in Moscow - but this one just blew my mind. Do not be scared by the surroundings - YES it is in this huge soviet building. And yes, you will have to take this tiny entrance on the right hand side of the building and pass the guards. This is a very cool place to play billiards, snooker or russian billiards. It is huge. 3 big rooms. Good beer and VERY cheap. It sets you back 40 years, and makes you feel to belog to the elite in the soviet union. hot tip!
  • The Park is a favorite of locals, because inside the Park are very comfortable playgrounds, there are kauchsorsing and Café with a soccer field and vorkaut. And many more interesting and with each year the more and cleaner.

Where to stay in Moscow

The capital of Russia and a huge metropolis, Moscow offers a plethora of different types of accommodations. Many renowned hotel chains are represented in the city, and some of its hotels rank among the world's most luxurious and expensive. Those traveling on a more modest budget can choose among the boutique or Soviet-era hotels. There are also numerous hostels and short-term rental apartments throughout the city. When choosing a place to stay, especially if you're only planning for a short visit, always bear in mind the size of Moscow. Staying too far from the center might mean that the precious time you could spend on sightseeing will be wasted in traffic and transport.
