Muzeon Art Park, Moscow

Specialty Museum Museum
Get a glimpse of Russia's artistic past at Muzeon Art Park, a space dedicated to statues and monuments primarily from the days of the Soviet Union. The park, home to more than 700 pieces, is something of a time capsule from an era when socialist realist styles dominated public spaces around the country. You can find all sorts of famous figures among the multitude of statues, including the infamous Josef Stalin and Vladimir Lenin, along with the equally ubiquitous hammer-and-sickle symbols of the former USSR. You'll see plenty of generic statues dedicated to workers, collective farmers, and other Soviet archetypes as well. Take special note of the fact that many of the statues are somewhat damaged; this is a result of their abandonment after the collapse of Communism, and many were toppled and left to degrade before they came to the collection beginning in 1992. • Very attractive place. Water fountains from the ground are cool at summer. A lot of unusual sculptures. Lovely outdoor lights are suitable for evening dates.
  • Great idea! Pleasant atmosphere except for the beef burger smell on the river front 😢
  • I was impressed by this place. A huge area for pictures, for different installations. Lots of great artists, who presented their works by themselves. And we saw all this magic just for 500 rubles. Price is nothing
  • A big white building .... with jewels inside ... the art from the post-Tsar period until today !! Really interesting !! Entrance feed 500.- Rub
  • European style promenade, well designed, with some food boots, great coffee place like "Cofebrod", nice crowd, some authentic art and paintings are offered for sale on a "garage sale" style mini market(sellers are not painters or artists, simply middlemen resellers;))...

Where to stay in Moscow

The capital of Russia and a huge metropolis, Moscow offers a plethora of different types of accommodations. Many renowned hotel chains are represented in the city, and some of its hotels rank among the world's most luxurious and expensive. Those traveling on a more modest budget can choose among the boutique or Soviet-era hotels. There are also numerous hostels and short-term rental apartments throughout the city. When choosing a place to stay, especially if you're only planning for a short visit, always bear in mind the size of Moscow. Staying too far from the center might mean that the precious time you could spend on sightseeing will be wasted in traffic and transport.
