At Museum of Soviet Arcade Machines, play video games, pinball, and collective hockey foosball on vintage machines from the Soviet era. Originally founded in an abandoned bomb shelter, the museum was recently moved to a former industrial building. You'll have 37 machines and 20 games to choose from. Try your hand with servos, wheels, levers, and other moving parts, which were cutting-edge technology in the 1970s. The museum also features restored vending machines that sell pear-flavored sodas. • The place is a not very big, but it has a pretty good amount of really old arcades from the Soviet Union era, some are fun to play with others are more there to look at. The place has a small cafe att...  more »

  • There is such a good atmosphere in my opinion the best Museum! In other museums boring, tedious tours and such here an interesting little excursion, and after that you can plunge into the wonderful world of Soviet slot machines! Well what could be better) all advise!

  • This is such a fun place to go! It cost us around $7 USD per person for the entrance fee and some game tokens. There are games ranging from the year 1980 to 1994. All of the games are very fun and you'll really enjoy yourself here. There is also a burger restaurant here as well but I didn't eat there. However, the food looked good.
  • Cool hangout place for the retro enthusiasts. Museum itself is rather small and works in the usual pay-and-play format. Has a Burger Heroes joint inside on the ground floor. Bonus tip: you may also want to try the soviet-era milkshakes made using an authentic soviet-era machine (just make sure you order at the museum front desk, not Burger Heroes 🌚)
  • The best attraction in Moscow. Definitely make time for this. We went without expecting much but ended up having a great time. Really interesting to see all the old games and try to work out how to play them.
  • Very interesting but barely a museum. Rather a nice café with approx 30 antic arcade machines. But still fun!
  • It's not really a museum but a kind of amusement place with old arcade machines mostly from the late 70s, 80s and early 90s, so most of the from the pre-Perestroika era.

Where to stay in Moscow

The capital of Russia and a huge metropolis, Moscow offers a plethora of different types of accommodations. Many renowned hotel chains are represented in the city, and some of its hotels rank among the world's most luxurious and expensive. Those traveling on a more modest budget can choose among the boutique or Soviet-era hotels. There are also numerous hostels and short-term rental apartments throughout the city. When choosing a place to stay, especially if you're only planning for a short visit, always bear in mind the size of Moscow. Staying too far from the center might mean that the precious time you could spend on sightseeing will be wasted in traffic and transport.
