Mikhail Bulgakov's Museum, Moscow

Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Inspirock Rating:
4.3/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web
Visit the strange world that surrounded and influenced one of Russia's most famous 20th-century writers at Mikhail Bulgakov's Museum. Situated on the fourth floor of the communal apartment block where Bulgakov had a room after coming to Moscow, the museum melds the authentic atmosphere of the time with the supernatural scenery of his novels, most notably "The Master and Margarita," where the writer immortalized his quarters as "The Odd Flat." The museum is furnished and decorated to take you back to the time when the writer lived there, featuring various personal belongings as well as those of family and contemporaries. The museum regularly organizes theater performances of Bulgakov's plays, novels, and stories. The ground floor of the same building features another museum dedicated to Bulgakov as well, so consider combining the two for the full experience. Mikhail Bulgakov's Museum is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Moscow Edition.

  • Take an evening tour of the official Bulgakov Museum in "an unfortunate apartment". Do not confuse the entrances. The Museum, i.e. the apartment where he lived Bulgakov, left at the second entrance of the arch, on the top floor. The first tempting staircase with creative surroundings-this is not it. Our evening was the last tour and started at 20.00 (were still at 18.00 and 19.00) and cost 300 rubles. per person. Well, that tickets bought in advance over the Internet, because wanting too much. Excursions are conducted by Museum staff and doing it brilliantly. Hold visitors ' attention for an hour and a half. Mostly tell about the life of Mikhail Bulgakov and generally about the life, literature and theater beginning-mid-20th century. The Museum is a two connected apartments with furniture of that era. Many of the exhibits are allowed to touch and handle:)), special attention should be paid to the stairs in the entrance. She painted from floor to ceiling. And is itself a cultural phenomenon. This entrance is already no one lives. Only offices. Very interesting to get in touch with Mikhail Afanas′evičem. Recommend everyone visiting "naughty apartments!

  • Recommend to visit and feel the atmosphere of the apartment. The museum itself small. If come not on èkskurssiû, admission free. tour costs only 150 rub there are evening excursions for 300 roubles Reviews good, unfortunately not in the Museum there is a very interesting exhibits, furnishings, documents that Bulgakov himself wrote. And of course the layout the same. In the apartment there is a café. Funny drink a cup of coffee in the "naughty" apartment Museum connected to the theatre and workers encouraged the evening show.
