Kuskovo Estate, Moscow
(4.6/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
The former summer home of a Russian noble family, the Sheremetevs, Kuskovo Estate today serves as the site of the Russian State Museum of Ceramics. The estate, built in the middle of the 18th century, was originally set in the countryside, but as Moscow expanded the rural atmosphere faded; today it stands in the city's East District. The museum displays over 30,000 exhibits of ceramics and glassware, with major collections of German, English, French, Danish, and Russian and Soviet porcelain. Outside the museum, tour the expansive grounds and visit the grotto, the Dutch house, and the main palace. • Snowy and peeled alley, decorated with cartons of sculpture, the bare branches of shrubs and trees, yellow lights lamps in the darkness, illuminated buildings, a small number of visitors ... This is the opportunity we kuskovo estate-Museum. Came in four hours, decided to visit the Portrait Gallery exhibition in large stone Orangery. The Conservatory is open 2. In the left-Portrait Gallery. On the porcelain. In a separate building in the American Conservatory, operates an exhibition "Russian porcelain 18V.-early 20 century." American Conservatory seen only outside the window may have noticed that there are plants, which justifies the name "Orangerie" and varied exhibition of porcelain (ware), therefore it is likely that if you choose one of the exhibition more interesting to visit all her. Tickets cost 150 rubles, pensioners-1 EUR Just the entrance to the Manor stands 40R, pensioners-30r. When you purchase a ticket for entrance to the Park is free of charge. The farmstead is open to the public from 10 to 18 (admission until 17.30). Former estate of count Sheremetev in the summer is wonderful, but in winter it has a sophisticated charm.

  • I love Homestead autumn wander alone on shurshashhim autumn leaves on the alleys, along the pond with boats. Admire the architectural ensemble with the Palace and gazebos. Yes knew a lot about choosing residence Sheremetev Palace summer, intended for lush balls, receptions and entertainment. In Kuskove there is also a wonderful Grotto, Orangery, ceramics Museum, an Aviary for birds, Portrait Gallery, collected by count Sheremet'evym, which now open in large stone Orangery. Only minus in the autumn that closed the Park's sculptures, they are hidden under wooden boxes and what not a café at this time of the year. For me personally, this manor is now seen in childhood, so Grandma and Grandpa lived in Kuskovo and a lot of time we hiked here
