  • The other day, finally visited this historic building. And its history is as follows. In his time, possessing of local field estate, count Orlov began breeding and flaunt their offspring, all now known Oryol breed of trotters. The building was constructed as the Manezh, precisely for these purposes. Now about the Museum. Simply class! This is the greatest collection of meteorites, minerals, rocks. Highly recommend to visit families with children of school and pre-school age even, as well as persons not indifferent to precious and semiprecious stones and, in General, individuals with fine mental organization. There is a very nice and informative. Here you and geology, and geography, history and chemistry with physics. I have heard that there are doing very exciting tours for schoolchildren.

  • Fersman mineralogical museum A.e. Fersmana resides in the neskuchniy garden. The Museum building in the late 18th and early 19 century was horse riding, which was built for Alexey Orlov-Chesmensky he is famous lover and connoisseur of horses. Decor Ringmaster is unusual-painting that simulates sculpting, on the ceiling, gilded moldings on walls and columns. This decoration is due to the fact that the room had a dual purpose. In the days of the festivals sponsored by count Orlov, dirt floor was covered with a plank, and playpen turned into a banquet hall. In the Museum you can get acquainted with the exposition of meteorites, materials for the history of the Museum. Here is the largest collection of minerals in Russia. Was somewhat surprised by the fact that there are minerals, named in honor of the Museum's staff scientists. Discovery for me became vorobyevite-pink Beryl, named after V.i. Vorobyev, was tragically killed in the expedition of the year 1906. Among the exhibits presented to the Museum by private individuals, particularly interesting collection of precious and semi-precious stones (approximately 300 specimens), owned by the family of Faberge. The collection was donated to the Museum by Agathon Faberge These (son of Carl Faberge) before his departure abroad in 1925 year through ACA A.e. Fersmana, then Director of the Museum. While they worked together in the Commission of the description of the values of the Imperial Court. On a visit to the Museum and its exhibits, you can spend the whole day! Very interesting, especially fascinated browsing stones. Memory you can buy souvenirs and books on mineralogy and of minerals. In November 2016 year Museum said 300-year anniversary. Thanks to all the staff of the Museum for their excellent work on the conservation and enhancement of Museum exhibits.

Many renowned hotel chains are represented in the city, and some of its hotels rank among the world's most luxurious and expensive. Those traveling on a more modest budget can choose among the boutique or Soviet-era hotels. There are also numerous hostels and short-term rental apartments throughout the city. When choosing a place to stay, especially if you're only planning for a short visit, always bear in mind the size of Moscow.
