  • This is the case when it is better to see once, than hundred times to listen or read. Beauty is indescribable. All around steeped in history and takes you back several centuries ago. Come for sure, this is a must see and feel. Pleasant journeys.

  • Historic Donskoy monastery is located in the heart of Moscow. A ten minute walk from Shabolovskaya Metro. In addition to the architectural ensemble of the monastery still famous Don necropolis. It is the only old dvorjansko-merchant's cemetery in Moscow, which virtually intact after the revolution. People were buried there, Vjazemskih family dolgoruky Trubetskoy, heroes of war 1812 year, relatives of Pushkin, as well as such famous people of the past centuries, as chaadayev, Klyuchevsky, Vasily Zhukovsky, and others. This is truly a unique necropolis for Moscow. Necropolis of the Donskoy monastery even has its legends: there is the tomb of the infamous pomeshchitsy Saltykov (Saltychihi). But officially, as we understand, this is not confirmed. It is likely that at one time people "nominated" unmarked grave burial Saltychihi and now believe in it. About this odious figures better read separately. With regard to modern graves, there are graves of Solzhenitsyn, Denikin, Kapelja. Leaders of the White movement's remains were transported to the Don kladishhe and buried here. Later opened a new cemetery near the Donskoy monastery, where already began to reach the famous contemporaries later heroes of the revolution, the civil war. There was opened the first Crematorium in Russia. This new cemetery has notoriety there were mass graves of murdered in custody of the KGB. And yet there is one mass grave-burial of the dead in hospitals during the great patriotic war. Of course, monasteries and cemeteries is no place for walks, but, nevertheless, the Donskoy monastery and Don necropolis were an important part of the history of our country. And visit this place definitely worth.

  • Donskoy monastery is a place you must visit. The main temple of monystyrja-great cathedral. The main shrine of the monastery is the Don icon ciation. Orginal is kept in the Tretyakov Gallery. But once a year, September 1 icon will be transferred to the monastery to celebrate. Another shrine of the monastery of javljajutsjasvjatye the relics of the Saint Tikhon. In addition to the Bol'shhogo Cathedral on the territory of monostyrja there are a number of beautiful churches. Definitely worth a visit and the necropolis of the Donskoy monastery, where lie the remains of Russian culture and science. Among them are relatives of a. s. Pushkin. In the necropolis is tomb of Alexander Solzheniciny. In the early 2000s, the remains reburied here Dinikina General, Lieutenant-General Vladimir Kappel, filosova Ilyina. Be sure to go to the monastery wall which kept authentic bas-reliefs of the ruined bol'shivikami Temple of Christ the Savior. There are beplatnaja parking.

  • The monastery stands out in that it (partially) preserved necropolis 16-19 centuries. I.e. historic Moscow cemetery for notables. In particular, there buried Uncle Pushkin (the poet was at the funeral), Smirnova-Rosset, Chaadaev and many other prominent people 18-19 centuries. There is a book La Cherejskogo "Pushkin and his Entourage". There lists a variety of curriculum vitae. With him is interesting to wander through the necropolis. One of the photos shows hosted State Cemetery in Soviet times. In 80-ies it was my favorite place in Moscow. Yes, the devastation-but felt "spirit of place", a special mood. Unfortunately then there began a big change. One of the Priors was fond of patriotic ideas. This is good-but I'm not sure why it was placed among the graves samples of military equipment (see photo). While rigidly confined to the days when it was possible to enter the monastery. Last year I visited the monastery in the midst of reconstruction. He actually shot to smithereens. The saddest thing is that this is the case the State has deteriorated sharply in the necropolis. Somehow visually less become tombstones (although I don't specifically essno believed). Sorry if authentic ancient cemetery finally zagubjat. At the same time, thanks to the construction mess was able to visit all the "nooks and crannies" of the monastery. In normal times, admission is always closed. On one of the photo visible fruit garden behind the House of the priest. Never before had I not seen the open font (photo). In General, this is an interesting place worth visiting (preferably previously acquainted with literature that "context").
