  • Before visiting the Danilov monastery, carefully read the instructions, that is to say rules on "rules of conduct", otherwise choose okonfuzitsja! Only there (more panels nowhere) you can see that on the territory of the monastery, photo-, cinema and videography prohibited, only with the blessing of the leadership of the monastery! Otherwise "get around" from Lords of the Cossacks! Repent, this commandment we violated, but only out of ignorance! (((Visited in two floors, a temple of the Holy fathers of the seven ecumenical councils (very beautiful inside), walked through the territory, troitsky Cathedral (Moscow Empire) was closed to all Saints Church and the residence of the Holy Synod of the closest 100 m does not come, the fence and the Cossacks! All somehow very STRICTLY! Why put photo just outside of the Danilov monastery.

  • Very beautiful and organic monastery, where several church buildings of different architectural direction. Very nice Central Cathedral. But I want to again make a comment to the employees of the Church, that should not preclude doing in church photos, because it is not forbidden by the legislation of the Russian Federation, which prevails in our secular country. Next time bring with a printout of the necessary laws and give their employees donated the Church to legally prosveshhalis.

  • Write a review about this holy place is extremely difficult, because you can be accused of offending the senses. believers, although I believe that the history of the country and we have one. traveling to the holy sites try not to violate rules-shawl and skirt are required, you cannot photograph the temple. I wonder why, but try to get permission to shoot. In this monastery you cannot shoot and compound. It why? What is the number of inadequately protecting as Cossacks, behaviour of their amiable. Periodically they announce any breaks, closing the entrance to the temples. The territory of the monastery, the building is running extremely in need of repair, the refectory of the monastery there is a dubious kind of stalls selling pastries and cakes, but alas, yesterday's at best.

  • Try to visit every visit to Moscow. An extraordinary place. Nicely, calmly. Several temples. From shrines here are: the relics of the blessed Prince Daniel of Moscow, "Moscow's master" shoe of St. Spiridon Trimifundskogo (shoe there is a popular belief: Saint Spyridon to this day walks, helping people, whether he has a prayer assistance. Once a year the relics of the Saint are extracted from crabs, and find his shoes worn out soles. Replace new shoes. A well-worn shoes pass in temples for worship. Another such shoe is in the Cathedral of Voronezh. At first she just lay under glass, a few years later, it is even difficult to see due to the large amount of jewelry that brings believers in thanks for assistance through the prayers of St. Peter. St. Spiridon pray with loss of jobs, housing and material difficulties. Usually help doesn't make itself waiting long.) In the temple, in which the entrance is located behind the gates of the monastery.

  • Founded in 1560 year on the spot where, according to legend, there was a Monastery founded at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries the Moscow Prince Daniil, youngest son of Prince Alexander Nevsky. In XVI-XVII centuries belonged to the zone fortified monasteries that protected the approaches to Moscow from the South. In 1920-ies of the monastery was the center of the so-called "danilovskaya opposition — informal conservative opposition to Metropolitan Sergius, headed by Bishop of Volokolamsk Fyodor (Pozdeevskim) [1] [2]. Resurrected in 1983 as a stavropegial and since then became the spiritual and administrative centre of the Russian Orthodox Church: its territory is the building of the Department for external church relations (DECR), as well as the residence of the Synod, where meeting of the Holy Synod.

  • Without faith in God, there's nothing to do. But for the believer, the House of God. This monastery with its rules and statute. So one must observe. Also on the territory of the Monastery sold dairy products with a farmstead, Friday to Sunday. Also use this service. As in Moscow, buy organic foods difficult. Beautiful historic place.

Where to stay in Moscow

The capital of Russia and a huge metropolis, Moscow offers a plethora of different types of accommodations. Many renowned hotel chains are represented in the city, and some of its hotels rank among the world's most luxurious and expensive. Those traveling on a more modest budget can choose among the boutique or Soviet-era hotels. There are also numerous hostels and short-term rental apartments throughout the city. When choosing a place to stay, especially if you're only planning for a short visit, always bear in mind the size of Moscow. Staying too far from the center might mean that the precious time you could spend on sightseeing will be wasted in traffic and transport.
