Those traveling on a more modest budget can choose among the boutique or Soviet-era hotels. There are also numerous hostels and short-term rental apartments throughout the city. When choosing a place to stay, especially if you're only planning for a short visit, always bear in mind the size of Moscow. Staying too far from the center might mean that the precious time you could spend on sightseeing will be wasted in traffic and transport.

  • This is another old and tired looking church from the outside that needs refurbishing. Inside is better and has nice picturesque walls and ceilings. However, I wouldn't go out of your way to see it.  more »
