  • I was recently in the Church of St. Martin and remembered this day-transparent and delicate as watercolor. Saw Church such a bright, lively and familiar, came and stayed in the service. Kowtow to all who restored the Church, helps, t and serves the Church. 25 years ago I was close by, alas, everything was in ruins, and I wanted to go find out. And here after so many years such a gift. -

  • This Temple stands out and distinguishes itself from other churches in the district as its architecture, and the title, you'd think that he'd rather Catholic. I advise you to read about him on Wikipedia. But be sure to visit it. Welcome all here, it is spacious and breathe it very easily. The rest will see themselves:)

  • The temple is named in honor of the Pope, Martin the Confessor stands between Solzhenitsin (d. 15) and Stanislavski (d. 2), but one of the targeted panels is "big Alekseevskaya, d. 15. The street on which the temple before the revolution have been named in honor of Alekseevskoj Sloboda, and after the revolution were renamed Communist. When the Soviet Union collapsed, it was decided to change their name again. Parishioners and priests had hoped that the Church would return its pre-revolutionary address beforehand and have established historic plate. But on a modern map of Moscow appeared quite another Street-Alexander Solzhenitsyn. Even 100 years ago, the temple was an architectural dominant Taganki. Voznesshiesja in the sky dome and his snow-white Bell Tower dominated over low merchant buildings. Now the temple is surrounded on all sides by high residential and administrative buildings, so many passers-by scurrying between cafes and shops, Taganskaya square, did not even suspect that lurking in the depths of the amazing beauty of the temple, with a rich history and invaluable historical relics of the iconostasis, made in the form of a triumphal arch; miraculous list with prototype Georgian icons of the mother of God; the burial shirt (srachica) and part of the relics of Matrona of Moscow. Sometimes at lunch time I visit here. Very impressive at first glance, architecture, but actually-very nice atmosphere, without pathos. Pleasantly amazed that for candles and scraps of money does not take you vznosish' how many donations you think fit. You can sit on the bench and sit as long as you want-no one will say anything. Very comfortable place, why he came.
