  • Be sure to visit! Very informative an interesting excursion, for children and adults. Especially for those who come to Baikal for the first time.

  • It started out with information displays about the Lake which had very interesting data and, as we had an English-speaking guide, learnt quite a bit about its size and ecosystem. Definitely could have...  more »
  • Very high quality Museum where I found the answers to all your questions about Lake Baikal, which tormented me throughout the holiday. The thickness of the ice in March, the names of the rocks on the shores of the Lake and how deeply right near the shore, to the places and conditions where omul. Samples of fish, minerals, three-dimensional replicas of DNA, maps, schemes, charts-all at a high level and is available for understanding the man is not very svedujushhemu. The Museum has an aquarium with spotting freshwater seals, after visiting which even decided not to walk in nerpinarij. By the way, when I seal 15 minutes floated belly up right-to-left and left-to-right-down. Both and without interruption. I wonder, do so. 15 minute free virtual tour a submarine is suitable for all ages, I recommend! All the exposure you can get around by yourself, there are some decent captions and explanations, but in an aquarium I overheard a couple of times the guide with the group. Whether she is so well told, whether the information there is not enough for a stand-alone Viewer. Many tourists in groups, including foreigners. The staff is courteous and interested in my work-it's nice to see. And of course recommend not regret money and go look at this Canadian underwater research vehicle, which earlier used to explore Lake Baikal, and now stands in a glass annex to the building of the Museum. Excursions there solo, Museum box office upon request. Include 20 minutes inside the device with a closed upper cover story about hardware and a couple of stories from life.

  • Though not all exhibitions and descriptions are in English, you still get a good value for money at 310rubles. There is an aquarium with 2 Baikal seals among other Baikal fishes. I liked the 15mins Baikal diving movie which is in English.
  • The museum itself looks nice, but if you don't speek and read russian, it is really hard to understand everything.
  • Nice museum, teaches you enough about the lake
  • Very interesting limnological museum.
  • Great museum shame not more information in English
