Musa (Zalilov or Jalilov) was an excellent poet, prose writer, wrote the libretto for the Opera and Ballet Theatre, now bearing his name. During the war, refused to "armor", and went as a volunteer to the front. In the year 1942 in Kazan formed one of the divisions of the second shock army, which subsequently called army Vlasova. Trying to lift the blockade of Leningrad, army is mired in a swampy area, almost entirely perished in fire bag. General Vlasov Army Commander, defected to the German troops. Therefore, all employees of the second shock army were called traitors. Musa Cälil was wounded and captured. In the year 1942 Germany actively shaped the national battalions from different ethnic groups of USSR. One of these units was the Tatar-Bashkir part, which promised an independent quasi-State after the fall of the SOVIET UNION. Giving your consent to help Germans, Musa Jalil and his supporters (their portraits on the wall next to the monument), sabotaged the project. The first part of Tatars and Bashkirs, armed by the Germans, crossed the front line and turned their weapons against the Nazis. The failure of this project resulted in the SS began to search for the perpetrators. Podoslav provocateur to the top group of Jalil found all the conspirators. And all of them were executed. Among them prominent Tatar culture and arts, children's writers, etc. For a long time at home were considered traitors, until in 1956 year Timmerman, Jugoslav sitting in Moabit prison with Musa Jalil, handed over to the Soviet Embassy in London records Jalil, called "notebook Moabitskie", telling about his feat. They Musa wrote poems about the motherland, that we should fight the enemy to complete victory. And the fight will never be in vain. The monument embodies strength, courage and sharpened the will of Tatar people
