  • Built in the second half of the 19th century. Got its name from a track across from the Observatory. In 1910, during the laying of the railroad, the bastion of lost parts of their buildings. After the war it was prefab conscription. Interesting historical place.

  • Another fortification of Königsberg was built in 1855-1860. Its name Bastion has received from the Astronomical Observatory, which was located nearby. It was here that he worked as an astronomer Bessel, who identified the exact position of the stars. In the year 1910 bastion was demolished during the construction of the road, leaving only the inner part of the semicircular shape. During World War II Gestapo here. In the beginning of the 2000 's bastion took RIOT POLICE. In 2008 year was sold to fishery company. Nearby is a monument to the heroes who died during the storming of the fortress. Within walking distance are the Ausfal'skie gate.

  • I have been wanting to explore the Astronomical bastion (bastion Shternvarte), which is one of the tangible heritage of Königsberg. This reinforcement was built during a second shaft rings of Königsberg in 1852-1862. The photos on the Internet I was expecting to see a small Tower and on the corner of Mountain Street in front of me turned out to be a large structure of red brick. Time potrepalo sturdy walls, further damage caused by people living day. I wanted to get into the courtyard of the bastion, but could only peek into the small hole in the strong iron gates. Unfortunately, this interesting bastion closed to tourists and history buffs, it is privately owned and used as a shooting range. One can only hope that the time will come when it will be restored bastion Astronomical transformed into a tourist attraction. Lately, for various reasons, declining tourism, officials urge citizens travel more in their country. So we must do more for the development of tourism infrastructure, for the preservation of historical monuments, to create on their basis of public space, where people could touch the business of bygone days. Then our and foreign tourists will travel with pleasure not only to suzdal and Kostroma, but also in any Russian city.
