  • In Derbent I live for several years, but Juma-Mosque visited recently for the first time. I'm Orthodox and in the mosque we are friends from Pskov arrived as tourists, turned our friend who acted as guide. I have to say: this place has made a tremendous impression on us! First and foremost, on its energy. In the mosque compound and inside very quietly, peacefully. do you feel that the soul is resting there, head formed the order and receive the correct thought. The second thing we were surprised this attitude. We are people of other faiths, but little of that in our side didn't have nary a negative, we felt totally kind attitude. We even were treated to tea from a Samovar in the courtyard of the mosque, but during the tea party, we listened to a brief history of Islam. After we managed to meet with the Imam of the mosque, to talk with him. Of the Juma didn't want to leave, and the strongest desire to come here regularly. We even asked the Imam, can we, Orthodox, coming into the Juma Mosque, to just be in this blessed place. To get the fullest approval. Our visit to the Juma Mosque fell in April. Spring in Derbent is something beautiful! In the mosque yard bloomed cherry (or cherry, or Apple, I don't understand:)), all the flowers and plants were propoloty ... Grace-Yes and only! Strongly advise this place to everyone, especially to those who are tired, confused, lost on the road of life. Come to the Juma Mosque just sit under the centuries-old plane trees. Soak up the wisdom of centuries, take a look at lovely trees and flowers, listen to the quiet and measured life of the mosque and everything you will be fine! P.s. treat this place with reverence, which it is. The girls at the entrance will need to wear special long loose, cover the head and the whole body.

  • Caretaker-janitor of a great man who told us about the history of the mosque, and even a few legends. But, the priest came out of mosques after seeing that we are not of his faith was very irritable and decided to move immediately on the theme of the relationship of Islam and Christianity. In the light of recent events we felt creepy. But go there after dark!
