  • as in Chekhov not so many attractions, decided to bypass all. a small museum. located near the train station. one part is the museum itself consists of two rooms, the second part is a modern-type lectures. a small price for the Museum. the most interesting is that you can buy a postcard, write on it, and immediately send it to your friends. re-visit perhaps if you need this card, because exposure is not changed (walked several times).

  • Just around the corner from the train station is this wonderful Museum. It is situated in the original building, built in the year 1895. Rural mail was opened 2 January Lopasnya River 1896 year and existed in this purpose-built building for it 10 years. This page history associated with the name of a.p.chehova. In 1892 year writer settled in the estate in the village of Melikhovo, 12 miles from the Lopasnya River station and immediately, as many locals felt the lack of regularly running and proximity of mail. On the initiative of the local intelligentsia and with the active participation of Anton Chekhov in August 1893 year organized the collection of signatures for petitioning the Moscow wire postal district, and then to collect donations for the construction of a building of the mail. The Memorial part of the building-post office-recreated with historical accuracy. A variety of scales for weighing objects: envelopes, paperweight, Morse, and Bella, postmarks, antique furniture recreate the atmosphere of the post office in the late 19th century. In the next room presents an exhibition of postcards of the first half of the 20th century-very interesting. The Museum staff is very friendly and Nice. Tickets are very cheap, there are discounts for children and seniors. And 3 days from 10 to 12 June were generally free of charge for visitors! A wonderful Museum! Very interesting and informative!
