Astrakhan Kremlin, Astrakhan

(4.9/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Discover what life was like in the 19th-century military reservation at Astrakhan Kremlin. For centuries, the fortress was an inapproachable stronghold on the Russian southern border. It became a part of the historical and architectural reservation museum in 1980. See the clothes and other artifacts that belonged to peoples of the Lower Volga, and the elements of soldiers' armaments and ammunition. Check out the exhibit dedicated to the history of civil commotion and corporal punishments. Apart from two museums and fortification walls, the complex features seven towers, officer's houses, and soldier's barracks, as well as several cathedrals, churches, chapels, and a house of clergy. • In Astrakhan, was on a business trip. For almost a week. Excursion to the Kremlin was part of the entertainment of our working trip. I would like to mention the main Kremlin-the best and the only (!) place to stroll in the city. Nothing more interesting things I saw here. The place is really unique: an ancient building (after the recent major restoration-so said ceo), churches (there is even an unusual-and crosses on domes and Crescent), almost all active artillery tower (ibid. entrance to the "torture"-for thrill). And of course the famous Kremlin wall can, which ran the heroes of the film "Ivan VASILEVICH menyaet professiyu". Walked on it and we are. The Kremlin territory is small (compared to others in our country), but very well-groomed: paths, green spaces, benches, souvenir shops-everything here is), even in rainy weather here. Grieved only (but no longer surprised after a weeklong stay in this city)-garbage containers, which are picturesquely stood aside from the main entrance and were filled with debris. All in all a decent place to visit.

  • When travelling in Astrakhan Kremlin, I believe you need to visit necessarily. Makes a terrific impression! It can be seen that the Kremlin and locals-favorite vacation spot. How many weddings on the weekend! And no wonder, because against the backdrop of the Kremlin and memory photo looks majestically. Took excursion Clipper, which is very convenient, because the journey showed all the interesting places of the Kremlin and the driver stopped the vehicle in the most picturesque places to photograph.
