  • To get to Viscri that is already quite a journey with snow from December and the "road" just passable. The surroundings are splendid, medium to flow the best horse carts! The fortified church is very interesting, with its museum that explains what was life here, a few centuries ago (panels of explanation in English, German and french) but that has not so much changed. More here that also we feel that comfort was not the same sense everywhere in the world.

  • Highly recommended. I was there with the whole family. A place to visit where you can still feel the sense of "trip". A village where you go back in time at least 200 years. Not to mention the fortified church ... wonderful! Advice to climb high to the steep wooden stairs that start from within the Church. Great view and great wooden architecture.

  • I've seen 6 of 7 Romanian fortified churches listed in the Unesco World Heritage site. And the one in Viscri impressed me most. Initially I was angry that I chose a shortcut that is dirt road with Rupei. But returning the main road until I met as asphalt can be uneven. Driving faster than 30 km/h. But it's all rewards Church in Viscri. Can this way there is less tourists. Support very nice (unlike Biertanu). Going into the walls make you feel as if you go to the middle ages. Even walk does not want to fast. I wanted to be top 0.5 hours and I spent 1.5. Who has time for 1 history in Romania may choose Viscri.
