  • The monastery is one of the most famous and frequented and antico of Romania. It was built between 1386 and 1393 from Mircea cel Bătrân (Mircea the elder) in an attractive area and still rich in vegetation and Woods, lying softly on the right bank of the river Olt at 22 km from Ramnicu Valcea and 75 km from Sibiu. It was originally known as Monastery Nucet, then if I remember correctly identified by the name of Cozia acquired to locate it geographically at the mountain above it.
