Landmark
Take a seat on a bench in the central garden of Victory Square (Piata Victoriei), admire the surrounding Baroque and Art Nouveau buildings, and watch people feed pigeons in front of the opera house. Laid out in 1906, the square features several theaters, a museum, a monument to King Ferdinand, and a memorial to the victims of the 1989 revolution. The focal point of the square is the Romanian Orthodox Cathedral, located on its south side. You'll also find an old artesian well and the sculpture of a Capitoline she-wolf, a gift from the city of Rome. The ground floors of the 19th-century buildings house bookshops, art galleries, cafes, and restaurants. • Square in the Centre of the city famous for its theatre attendance on one side and the Church on the other side. In the middle of a lovely fountain and small manicured gardens with colorful flowers.

  • Theatre / Opera and many coffees or restaurants are located here. Also some shops. Restored and non restored buildings give the place a very beautiful charm. Easter market is at the moment.

  • Great place to hang out in the well-kept gardens, chase pigeons, and eat pretzels from the many bakeries around.
  • Authentic Square, revealing Timisoara, Romania, both the past and the future, the hard times and the potential.
  • Historical city center. Beautiful regardless of the time of year.
  • Nice square. A pity it's run down, but I understand why...
  • Best square in town
