  • In addition to the Orthodox Cathedral in Strada Metropoliei and the Evangelical Cathedral on Piata Huet, there is the Roman Catholic Holy Trinity Church on Piata Mare, the main square of Siibiu. It is a beautiful baroque Church of which the Tower in a strange way is attached to the ship of the Church. You may even walk under the tower because there is an arc-shaped passage that you of the Piata Mare (great site) to the Piata Mica (Small place). This passage was needed because on the site of the current Town Hall used to be other buildings that were as good as aanleunden against the Tower of the Church (see old photo). The beautiful building in art nouveau style did in 1906 served as bank building, later became the seat of the Communist Party in Sibiu and in 2006 eventually used as town hall. Every year on the Piata Mare a beautiful Christmas market held with projection of winter landscapes on the historical buildings around the square. On the same square you can find also the Brukenthal Museum with more than 100 paintings by Flemish and Dutch masters.

  • Although relatively small, this Catholic Church has become a symbol of the city. Dome and towers over the surrounding buildings. One of the oldest churches in the city.
  • The old Roman-Catholic church was located up to 1545 in the Saint Mary Cathedral in the Huet Square. From the reformation of the church in Transylvania, the actual building is home of the Roman-Catholic cathedral. The main attraction of the church are the concerts held every week, as well as the baroque interior design (unlike the gothic design of the Evanghelic cathedral).
  • Great building.
  • This place is an architectural marvel, make sure to visit!
  • Excellent baroque Church. It dominates the Large Square.
