  • One of the monasteries that are must-see in Romania. The largest of the region, formed by five churches and other buildings. Built between 1690 and 1697 under Constantin Brâncoveanu, it is the best example of the "brâncovenesc" style. The Interior of the main church paintings are impressive, as well as the judgment scene represented on the porch. It also highlights the entrance Atrium, with twelve beautiful carved stone columns. During the summer it offers 20 rooms, in which it is possible to sleep, upon reservation. In 1993 he was declared World Heritage site by UNESCO. The opening hours are 08.00 to 20.00 hours in summer and from 09.00 to 17.00 hours in winter. The entrance is free. There is a parking lot just before the first Arch of entrance to the enclosure of the monastery; but it is possible to have a car and a second parking is already found in the inside, close to the Church.
