  • Outside is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful churches of Romania. Built between 1514 and 1526, started by the master Manole and finished by Radu from Afumati, under the reign of the cruel Basarab I, that ordered to Manole that built the church more beautiful that never had existed. According to has it legend, for achieve such purpose the master there was of sacrifice to his woman, that is is walled in the Church (can see in an of them walls it registration that marks the place where is located); on the verge of finishing construction, Basarab King imprisoned Manole in a tower so that never again to build a similar work; This built a wings to escape, but crashed into the ground and there sprang up a fountain, known as "Fantana lui Manole", a few meters from the Church. Separate legends, the Church is incredibly beautiful, the jewel of the Romanian Byzantine art; and its interior does not detract from, with marbles brought from Byzantium and the fantastic decoration pictorial, to charge of the master Dragomir. It is certainly a must-see play. Admission is free and the opening hours are daily from 08.00 to 20.00 hours in summer and from 09.00 to 17.00 hours in winter.

  • It's amazing monastery! The Curtea de arges monastery have a lot of beautifull architectures detail's, and at all it is a great architectural building. Great gardens, and excellent place for visit and relax.
  • I shot weddings here. The monastery is famous for its history and architecture. A very crowded turistic place on Sundays
  • Great place to visit! Kings are buried here. A legend tells of Radu Negru employing Meşterul Manole or Manoli as architect. With Manole being unable to finish the walls, the prince threatened him and his assistants with death. At last Manole suggested that they should follow the ancient custom of placing a living woman into the foundations; and that she who first appeared on the following morning should be the victim. The other masons warned their families, and Manole was forced to sacrifice his own wife. Thus the cathedral was built.
  • Amazing place full of history and legends. Here also rests all the kings and queens of Romania, as the city was recently named Royal City of Curtea de Arges by the Romanian Royal Family.
  • Merita de vizitita
