  • A long stretch of white sand mixed with seashells, cigarettes and plastic bottles. Behind a dirty city and semi abandoned, with excessive prices not justified by the environment. Run away fast!

  • On the plus side, the beaches all around the city were extended considerably. This way there is enough space for sunbeds and umbrellas, beach bars, football fields and other sports. On the negative si...  more »
  • The beach is new and recently "construction". The sand was dredged from the sea by ships and taken on the beach in order to enlarge and stretch it out. It was practically rebuilt as it was cancelled from sea erosion over the years. To protect the beach from wind and waves, the cliffs were laid to protect the excellent work carried out. The beach can be reached by 2 or 3 access points that lie between the buildings on the waterfront but the location is a bit basic as you must do at least 50 of steps cut into the sand and edged with wooden planks. IT'S ABSOLUTELY INDICATED REACH FOR THOSE WITH DISABILITIES OR PROBLEMS IN THE LEGS! The beach consists of sand near the beginning and from sand and shells in the water's edge. Bring a pair of slippers on board water if you're not of fakirs and want to hacking each other feet. The beach is still beaten by a light and pleasant breeze (especially in the afternoon) that softens even the hottest days. On the beach there are portable toilets emptied weekly and an establishment bathing area that rent umbrellas and sunbeds. The rate is 15 RON for every bed except on weekends that become 20. There is also a bar where you can eat some snacks and drink some beverage cooler as beer, wine, tea and coffee making facilities. Next to the bar there is a small children's play area with a swing, a Playhouse for kids and some other little entertainment for the little ones. I did 2 weeks vacation in Constanta and practically only stayed in this beach as easy to reach and less crowded than those of Mamaia.

Where to stay in Constanta

To save money on a trip to Constanta, book your accommodations in the old quarter around Sfatului Square, instead of the higher-priced neighboring town of Mamaia. Reserve a spot at a hotel, hostel, or guesthouse here and all of the nightlife and parties will be within a 15-minute cab ride. If you came to enjoy the beach, stay in one of the hotels or apartments along the Black Sea coast. Reserve your room well in advance if you plan to visit during the summer, as availability is limited and prices are higher.
